Maria qualified as a solicitor in 2001 specialising in family and immigration law. She joined P A Todd Solicitors in 2017, having trained and worked at an established local firm for 17 years, and brings her experience and knowledge to head our Family & Immigration Departments.
Her immigration practice covers all areas of immigration and nationality law, including applications from abroad as well as in-country, with a special interest in complex immigration problems particularly those involving families & children. She has represented clients throughout the UK and internationally with clients in the US, Canada, India, Pakistan and New Zealand as well as the EU.
As a family lawyer Maria understands the stress and apprehension involved when families breakdown and provides advice in all areas from divorce & separation, financial provision, property disputes, child arrangements and domestic violence.
Maria recognises the importance of providing clear and practical advice on all the options available to them and guiding clients step by step through the process so as to achieve the best possible outcome in the most cost effective manner. She is known for going the extra mile for her clients and much of her practice has been built on repeat clients and personal recommendations.
Maria is a member of Resolution: first for family law.
Since joining P A Todd & Company, Maria also deals with the firms’ wills and probate matters. She acts for relatives and close friends of a deceased person in applying for probate enabling them to deal with all their assets. She advises in circumstances whether the deceased made a will or did not.
